The color is as pictured. Assembly was involved, but items were well labelled. The lower unit rolls in and out perfectly (hardwood floors). This desk was perfect for my application. Laptop can be stored away in the "lower level" but not if you use a cooling fan beneath it.

We have a very small space for it to fit and it couldn't be too deep or it would be in the way every time we walked through the bedroom door. We found this and I was so excited because it fits our space like it was designed for it and it has all the features I could hope for. The little drawer in the front is a nice place to tuck pens, paper, office supplies etc. I actually use this for a PC instead of a laptop and it works great. The tower sits underneath on the right side so I still have plenty of legroom while seated at the desk and room to tuck the chair in when it's not in use. I put my wireless keyboard on the part that pulls out along with my mouse and then my flat screen monitor goes on the very top.
